How syndication works
Once your listing is approved, here's where it goes and how renters find you.
When your listing passes the Trust & Safety review, RentSpree automatically shares it across multiple major rental platforms at the same time. This is called syndication and it means you get broad visibility without having to manage separate accounts or listings on each site.
Where your listing appears
Your listing is syndicated to five of the most widely used rental sites in the country:
- Zillow — One of the most visited real estate platforms in the US, with millions of active renters searching every month.
- Redfin — A popular home search platform increasingly used for rentals.
- Apartments.com — One of the largest dedicated rental listing sites, with a large renter audience.
- Zumper — A rental-focused platform popular with renters in urban markets.
- realtor.com — A major real estate platform with strong traffic from active home and rental seekers.
Your listing goes to all five automatically — there's nothing extra you need to do on each platform.

Choosing which sites to syndicate to
By default, your listing is sent to all five partner sites. If you'd prefer to limit where your listing appears, you can control this from your account settings.
Go to Settings → Listing distribution to see a toggle for each platform. Simply turn off any sites you don't want to syndicate to and hit Save changes.

These settings apply to all your listings, not just one. If you turn off a platform here, it affects every active listing on your account. Property-specific distribution is not an available option.
How long does it take?
Once your listing is approved by Trust & Safety, it typically appears on partner sites within 8 hours. Each platform has its own processing time, so you may see your listing show up on some sites before others — that's normal.
Your RentSpree listing link
In addition to being syndicated to partner sites, your listing lives on its own RentSpree page with a unique shareable link. This link is yours to use however you like as it goes directly to your listing and allows renters to submit an application right from the page.
How applications come back to you
No matter where a renter finds your listing — Zillow, Apartments.com, or your direct RentSpree link — all applications come back to you in one place: the Applications tab of your property in RentSpree. You don't need to check each platform separately. Everything lands in your RentSpree dashboard.
Respond to applicants quickly. Good renters are often looking at multiple properties at once. Responding to an application within 24 hours — even just to acknowledge receipt and let them know you're reviewing — keeps them engaged and shows you're an attentive landlord. It sets a positive tone for the relationship before it even begins.
Taking your listing down
Once you've found a tenant and are ready to move forward, you can deactivate your listing from the Listing tab so it stops appearing on partner sites. This keeps things clean and prevents applications from continuing to come in once you've made your decision.
