How to verify your property ownership

Before your first rent payment reaches you, we confirm you own the property you're collecting on. Upload a deed, mortgage statement, or closing documents (if requested), and most reviews are finished within a few hours.

We check ownership to keep rent from being collected on a property by someone who doesn't own it. It protects you, and it protects your renter.

What we accept

Any one of these documents, showing your name and the property address:

  • Property deed

  • Mortgage statement

  • Closing documents

Upload as a PDF. We can't accept photos or screenshots.

These are the only documents we accept. A property management agreement doesn't work on its own, because it doesn't show who owns the property. If you manage the property for someone else, you can still set up rent payments for the owner from your own account: choose My Client when you create the payment, and the owner connects their bank account and verifies ownership. See how to set up recurring rent payments.

How to submit your documents

  1. Open the property ownership form. The link is also in the email we send when documents are needed.

  2. Enter the property address exactly as it appears on your document.

  3. Attach your PDF and submit.

What happens next

Our team reviews your documents, usually within a few hours during business hours. You'll get an email either way.

If something's missing or unclear, we'll tell you what to send instead. That's the most common reason a review takes longer, so it's worth checking the name and address match before you upload.

Once you're verified, your payments release on the normal deposit schedule.
