Lease Signing - overview
Get your lease signed online. Upload your document, place signature fields, and send. No printing or scanning required.
Once you've found the right tenant, the lease is the last step before move-in. RentSpree's e-sign tool lets you upload your lease, assign signature and date fields to each signer, and send everything digitally. Both you and your tenant sign from any device, and the completed document is stored for your records.
This is a Landlord PRO feature. Lease e-signing is available on Landlord PRO and RentSpree PRO plans. Learn more about Landlord PRO
What's included
- Upload your own lease in PDF, PNG, JPG, or JPEG format (20 MB max)
- Place signature, date, initial, text, and checkbox fields anywhere on the document
- Assign each field to the correct signer
- Send directly to your tenant for signature, then sign yourself
- Save your lease as a template to reuse for future signings
Build from a template is coming soon. If you don't have a lease yet, your state's landlord association is a good place to find a standard lease for your area.
Before you upload
To make sure your lease processes correctly, check two things before uploading:
- The file is not password-protected
- There are no editable text fields in the document (standard PDF text is fine)
Get your lease signed before handing over keys. A signed lease is your legal protection if a dispute comes up later. Make it a firm rule: no signature, no move-in date.
