How do I pay my rent or deposit?

When your landlord or agent sets up a payment request, you'll get an email or text inviting you to pay through RentSpree. You can pay your rent, deposit, or other requested fees by bank account or by credit/debit card.

Pay your rent or deposit

  1. Set up your account. From the email or text request, select Schedule My Payment and follow the steps to create your RentSpree account.
  2. Open Rent Payment. From your dashboard, select the Rent Payment tab.
  3. Select the transaction. Choose the payment you want to make.
  4. Start the payment. Select Pay Now next to the amount due.
  5. Choose how to pay — a bank account or a credit/debit card:
    • Card payments include a 3% processing fee and are capped at $5,000 per transaction.
    • Bank payments run through Stripe. If your bank isn't listed, you'll verify it manually: Stripe sends a deposit of less than $1 to your account, and once it arrives you return to RentSpree to finish verifying.
  6. Confirm and submit. Accept the Terms of Use, then select Submit. You'll see a confirmation that your payment went through.

Your landlord or agent gets an email confirming the payment. Allow 3–5 business days for bank payments to clear, and 1–3 business days for card payments.

To have your rent paid automatically each period, see how to set up, change, or cancel auto-pay.

Change or remove a payment method

  1. On your dashboard, find the transaction under the Rent Payment tab.
  2. On the Transactions page, select Pay Now.
  3. Select Edit to change the payment method.
  4. On the Manage payment methods page, select Add to enter a new method, or the trash can icon to remove one.
  5. Once your preferred account is selected, continue to complete your payment.
