Does the SSN or ITIN appear on reports?

No. TransUnion doesn’t show the Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification number on the rental application or any screening report.

This protects both sides: applicants don’t have sensitive information exposed, and agents and landlords carry less liability for handling it.

Applicants still provide their SSN or ITIN during TransUnion’s identity check, along with a series of identity verification questions.
