Q: What does "account is frozen" mean?
I see the report but it says the account is frozen, what does this mean?
A: A credit freeze occurs when someone requests a lock/freeze on their account, either because of fraudulent activity or to prevent it.
Solution: When someone has had an incident of fraudulent activity on their account, they may decide to freeze it. This effectively locks anyone out from accessing their credit report. Due to this, anyone inquiring about a frozen account will receive a message that the account is frozen. While this is not an issue, the person responsible for that account will need to contact TransUnion to remove the freeze.
