FAQ: Can I be screened if I'm an international resident?
I'm an international resident and do not have a Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), can I still be screened?
International residents can fill out a rental application through RentSpree and enter information about themselves, such as personal, residential, and occupational info.
However, TransUnion requires an SSN or ITIN to generate screening reports, including the TransUnion Credit Report, Criminal Background Check, and Eviction Related Proceedings. If you do not have an SSN or ITIN, TransUnion cannot complete a screening. Please reach out to your agent, and they may send you a new ApplyLink for just the Rental Application.
If an SSN or ITIN was obtained within the last 7-10 years, a verification with TransUnion may be needed. Please call TransUnion at (833) 458-6338 and ask for a manual verification to speak with a TransUnion Representative for further assistance.
