Why won't my bank account connect to pay my rent?
RentSpree connects your bank account through Stripe. If you're having trouble linking it, here's how to fix the most common issues.
I can't find my bank
- Check the spelling and try variations — for example, "1st" and "First," or "FCU" and "Federal Credit Union."
- Use your bank's current name if it was renamed or acquired. For example, SunTrust and BB&T are now Truist, and Boeing Employee Credit Union is BECU.
- Still don't see it? Select Manually verify instead and enter your account and routing numbers. Stripe sends a deposit of less than $1 to your account, and once it arrives you return to RentSpree to finish verifying.
I don't use online banking
You can pay by credit or debit card instead. Card payments include a 3% fee.
I have a spending or prepaid account
Spending accounts (such as Credit Karma Money, Robinhood Cash, Acorns, Dave, or Albert Cash) and prepaid accounts (such as Walmart MoneyCard or GreenDot) can't connect. RentSpree supports checking accounts and credit/debit cards only.
